How to maintain a reproductive health?

You might be getting this question that how one can maintain reproductive health irrespective of all age groups from adolescent to old-age women.


Anatomically, reproductive organs includes ovaries , fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, vulva, mammary glands and breast. Tissues associated to these are stated as reproductive tissues.


Foremost thing, if you are balancing your bodily fluids, primary waters of the body and blood quantity that maintenance your reproductive health.

You might be surprised how bodily fluids and blood are linked to reproductive health.


Ayurveda conceptualizes 7 tissue theory or saptadhatu theory. Those 7 tissues are Rasa-Plama , Rakta-Blood, Mamsa-Muscle , Meda-Fat tissue, Asthi-Bone, Majja-Bone marrow linked to Nervous system, lastly Sukra- Reproductive organs and tissues.


How these forms ? By the intake of proper food with properly functioning digestive fire,digested food called Aahara Rasa converts into first tissues – Rasa /Plasma which forms sara and kitta bhaga ie essence and waste part respectively. The essence part of Rasa dhatu nourishes the next tissues ie Rakta-Blood like wise it nourishes the preceding tissues.


Portions of the blood, lymph, intestinal fluids are directly linked to breast milk and menstrual blood. Variation in these may hamper breast milk secretion and irregularities in menstrual cycle.


Rasa dhatu being made up of water element has similar qualities of water being cold, heavy, moist, soft, smooth, flowing.


Rakta dhatu is made up primarily of fire element. It has a similar qualities like hot ,light, dry, hard, stable, rough, flowing, clear, sharp.


In-taking the foods which increases your digestive fire helps in proper nourishment of aahara rasa from the food you ingested.


Taking the foods having similar qualities increase the rasa and rakta dhatu.

Intake of tender coconut, spices like cumin, coriander, garlic, ginger. Fruits like pomegranate, grapes ,dates can restore Rasa dhatu.


Consuming the rice ,red rice , cereals, Millets in the form of gruel and porridge helps to improve both rasa and rakta dhatu there by keeping your reproductive organs and tissues healthy.
