Ayurveda -An Indian traditional system of medicine is a boon to environment. Ayurveda is a life science which prevents the wellness of healthy individual and treats the diseases with the environmental material.
Ayurveda will survive till the environment exists.Also environment will be sustained till Ayurveda exists.
You might be thinking how Ayurveda is eco-friendly?
In Ayurveda system,each and every part of the environment is given importance.
Ayurveda treats all living being- humans,plants,animals alike.
Ayurveda for humans.
Vriksha Ayurveda for plants.
Pasu Ayurveda for Animals.
Ayurveda uses herbs,shrubs,plants and trees for preparing various medicines and during treatment.To procure herbal medicines plant cultivation and forestation will be done.
When it comes to utilisation of drugs, drugs(herbs) are used as a whole rather than extraction, that makes low utilization of plants which is also good thing to keep the environment green.
Wastes out of Ayurveda hospital are herbal decoction,used oils, herbal powders which are almost biodegradable.
Expired Ayurveda medicines are easy to dispose into the earth.
Pharmaceutical wastes of Ayurveda is also biodegradable and some of them are good manure for cultivation of plants.
Animal products like milk, hoofs, hairs, horns are used for various purposes in Ayurveda.And conservation of animals will be done.
Plastic and other artificial materials are not used in ayurveda Panchakarma treatment,which makes this healthcare system to more environmental friendly.
Ayurveda specifies the purification of environment,helps in cleansing environmental material- water,air,soil etc..
Ayurveda not only taught us to live healthy, it also taught us to love nature and live with nature.
Ayurveda conceptualize that human body and nature are having identical elements ( Panchamahaboota-Air,water,Fire,Space,Earth).The trees are our lungs,the rivers are our lymphatic flow and blood stream.
We are all interconnected with nature. How we treat the environment is a reference of how we treat ourselves.
